Had dinner here, and while the dining space is perfectly pleasant the food was overpriced for what you got, and pretty mediocre. We both had the vegetarian pasta main course, and while it was a large portion, I would have preferred to have less pasta and a bit more flavour, as it really was bland. Also, £7.90 for a pint of lager? I mean, come on. The menu seems to be fairly unimaginative old school staples with chips and onion rings on the side, so there’s not much of a wow factor when you are making a choice, which is why we chose the veggie option - other items on the menu seemed to have arrived in a time machine from the mid seventies. The service was also a bit lacking, with the waiting staff not really focused on the customers, and spending a lot of time gawking at their computer screens or marching around looking self-important. Overall I found the dining experience rather forgettable, and my opinion of the Old Inn is nowhere near as high as the opinion it seems to have of itself. I won’t be rushing back.
